What it is

In Rudrabhishek, Lord Shiva is worshipped through abhishek, a ritual bath, while the Shri Rudram from the Yajurveda is chanted. It is done for peace, health and the removal of negativity.

When families do it

Mondays, the month of Shravan, Maha Shivratri, or any day a family wants Shiva's blessing.

What happens

1. Ganesh puja and sankalp
2. Abhishek with water, milk, curd, honey, ghee and sugar
3. Chanting of Shri Rudram and Chamakam
4. Bilva leaves, aarti and prasad
